Governors Ball Music Festival - Day 3 & Festival Recap - New York, NY - 6.2.19

And, that’s a wrap! The Governors Ball Music Festival’s ninth year has concluded. Though some attendees think it ended on a rough note due to weather complications that fostered futile chaos, we truly believe this just gives Gov Ball a platform to make next year that much better. Mother Nature just thought we were having too much fun!

Sadly, due to a late start and an early ending, we don’t have a full day’s worth to share with you for our experience on Day 3. Extreme travel delays made us miss anticipated acts like Chelsea Cutler and Lily Allen, and the unforeseen evening summer storm had the grounds evacuated before headliners Sza and The Strokes could take the stage. If you’re like us, though, you understand the ways of the weather and its unpredictability and are grateful for Gov Ball’s proactivity in establishing safety measures as quickly as they could. Luckily, we still got to chill out to a nostalgic set by Nas and party with Louis The Child while the night was still young.

Since Day 3 of this year’s Gov Ball was so short, we decided it only makes sense to start reminiscing on the sunnier days of this year’s festival weekend a bit earlier than we originally planned. Check out more photos from Days 1 & 2 at Governors Ball 2019 below to kick those rainy night vibes away!

All in all, we had a total blast despite the severe weather depriving us of that last hoorah. Thanks for another wild ride, and until next year, shine on, Gov Ball!
