IDLES / Official Lollapalooza Aftershow
Lincoln Hall - 8.1.19

IDLES is second to none when it comes to crowd interaction and overall manic behavior. Their primal stage presence brought Lincoln Hall to its knees (literally) with their jaw dropping performance late Friday night at their official Lollapalooza aftershow. Being only their second show in Chicago there was never a dull moment throughout the entire set. Even in breaks between songs lead singer, Joe Talbot, either had one on one conversations with audience members or voiced his opinion on important life lessons and politics. His words are so powerful yet so easy to hear. Their message is simple: love the ones that you love with all your heart and show the ones you disagree with the right way. They showed just how much they loved their fans here. Both guitarists Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan found their way into the crowd multiple times whether it be crowdsurfing or just singing with their fans. The crowd was insane from open to close. Everyone screamed every word from the top of their lungs. If there was one word I could use to describe this show, it would be β€œraw”. This was just a very raw and very heartfelt set. If you have not seen IDLES live before, I implore you to go out of your way to make it happen. You will be far from disappointed, I promise you.
