Inara George Releases New Single "Young Adult"
The loss of a loved one, and the resulting grief and gratitude for a life that touched yours, can spread out for years. Inara George released her latest single, “Young Adult,” a tender, uplifting homage to growing up and an articulation of the feelings her young mind couldn’t express in the wake of her father’s death (Lowell George of Little Feat) 38 years ago. Heralding the release of her upcoming solo album Dearest Everybody out January 19, 2018 on Release Me Records, “Young Adult” showcases soaring melodies and airy vocals, beginning a story of navigating the rivers of emotion that run through families; exploring loss to find sorrow and, sometimes, joy - often blooming in the unlikeliest of places. “Young Adult” and Dearest Everybody follow her previous 2009 solo album Accidental Experimental, which has amassed over 730k Spotify streams alone. Inara, of The Bird and the Bee (her collaboration with Grammy-winning producer, singer, and instrumentalist Greg Kurstin) and the Living Sisters fame, recently was featured on Foo Fighters’s “Dirty Water” and Superfruit’s “Everything,” which she co-wrote for their debut album Future Friends. This summer, Inara also performed alongside that dog. at Riot Fest and duetted with Shirley Manson and Garbage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
