KROQ’s annual Weenie Roast Festival was held on Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA for the first time this year. KROQ never fails to deliver stellar lineups and the artists never fail to bring the energy to their performances. The fest involved the community in Dana point to participate in the festivities. There were several vendors and local business and charities that were also given the chance to showcase their work and raise money and awareness for their organizations.
The Regrettes opened the festival and set the energetic tone for the rest of the day and night. The main stage was built on a grass area right in front of Doheny Beach ocean amidst the trees. The entire afternoon the artists gave their all to the crowd. The lineup was curated of very diverse sounds and artists from several different countries around the globe. Smith and Thell were a Swedish singer-songwriter group followed directly by Flora Cash a Swedish-American pop duo. The X Ambassadors brought all of their energy as well as Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Revivalists. DJ Snoop Dogg set the crowd off with his DJ set that consisted of his own hits and several other party faves such as Queen and Joan Jett. Silversun Pickups and the Lumineers warmed up the crowd for Limp Bizkit and 311 to take the stage once the sun set.
Limp Bizkit’s set had an electric energy. They performed all of their classics and thensome. Limp Bizkit does not fail to put on an amazing shoe after being a band for over 25 years. 311 has an electric energy while they headline the festival, they are an amazing attribute to the end of the festival. KROQ’s Weenie Roast Festival was a great experience on the coast this year.
