Underoath Announces First Album in 8 Years; Signs to Fearless Records

Underøath has dropped some exciting news today–announcing their first album in 8 years (and the first album with drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie in 10 years) and dropping the first single off of the highly-anticipated release. The sixth studio album, Erase Me, is set to release April 6th via the band’s new label Fearless Records. Bundles and album pre-orders will be available here, and you can watch the video for the first single off of the album, “On My Teeth”, below!

“…I think Underøath coming back now with a new record-which none of us thought was possible-we want people to know that this is your music and you can feel however the fuck you want about it,” explains Gillespie on the album. “I just want to prove that we are doing everything in the most honest way we ever have. This is the healthiest we’ve ever been as a group of people, as musicians, and in our worldview.”

Vocalist Spencer Chamberlain adds, “We took a step away and then we realized that we are a family… We made the decision to never play again as Underoath and then we let that sit a couple of years. Band members rebuilt themselves and their friendships–and then we rebuilt the band.”

Though Underoath has always been a raw and emotionally-driven band, the upcoming album will give listeners an honest insight on the vulnerability of the band–touching upon each members’ life circumstances, the demise of the band, and even their uncertainty with religion.

With plans for a headlining tour in support of the new album to be announced, Underoath has confirmed a number of festival performances until then. See below for a full list of dates.
